    Frequently Asked Questions

    Are your fragrances 100% authentic?

Yes. Every product sold on Perfumista Nigeria is 100% authentic and sourced directly from authorized distributors and brand-approved suppliers. We do not sell counterfeit, replica, or "inspired by" fragrances.

How can I tell if a perfume is original or fake?

Authentic fragrances typically have: a clear, evenly-printed batch code on the box and bottle; consistent font and print quality; a smooth, weighted glass bottle; and a scent that develops in stages (top, heart, base notes) rather than smelling flat or overly sharp. If you ever have concerns about a product you received from us, contact us with photos and we'll investigate immediately.

What's the difference between Eau de Parfum (EDP), Eau de Toilette (EDT), and Eau de Cologne (EDC)?

These refer to fragrance concentration. EDP has the highest concentration (15–20%) and lasts longest (6–8+ hours). EDT is lighter (5–15%), lasting 3–5 hours. EDC is the lightest (2–4%), lasting 1–2 hours. Higher concentration generally means stronger scent, longer wear, and a higher price point.

What are "top notes," "heart notes," and "base notes"

A fragrance unfolds in three stages. Top notes are what you smell immediately (light, fade within 15–30 minutes). Heart (or "middle") notes emerge next and form the core character of the scent (lasting a few hours). Base notes appear last and linger longest, often providing depth and longevity (woods, musk, amber).

How do I choose a fragrance that suits me

Consider the occasion (daily wear vs. evening/special occasion), season (lighter, fresh scents for summer; warmer, richer scents for winter), and your existing preferences (do you like sweet, woody, fresh, or spicy scents?). Our product descriptions include the fragrance family and key notes to help guide your choice.

What's the difference between a "signature scent" and having multiple fragrances

A signature scent is one fragrance you wear consistently, making it recognizable and associated with you. Many people instead build a small collection and rotate scents by season, mood, or occasion — there's no right answer, it comes down to personal preference.

Can I return a fragrance if I don't like the scent once opened

Unfortunately, no — for hygiene and authenticity reasons, we can only accept returns on unopened, sealed products. See our Returns & Refund Policy for full details. This is why we recommend checking the listed fragrance notes carefully, or starting with a decant/sample if available, before committing to a full bottle.

How do I edit what's in my plan?

Keep the product in its original packaging along with all documents confirming the purchase and refund. You will need this for further communication with the seller and the payment system.
